904L Scrubbers for Fertilizer Plants

While conventional 316L and rubber-lined carbon steel suffer from chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and thermal delamination , 904L’s high-alloy chemistry—23% Ni, 20% Cr, 4.5% Mo, and 1.5% Cu—provides superior resistance to aggressive $H_{2}SO_{4}$ and $HCl$ media. Tinita employs rigorous GTAW/SMAW welding protocols and 100% Non-Destructive Testing (RT/UT/DPT) to prevent microstructural sensitization. Despite higher CAPEX, 904L offers a service life of 10 years or more, significantly optimizing the Total Cost of Ownership through reduced maintenance and downtime.
