Working Principle

Feedwater heaters operate by channeling feedwater through tubes while high-temperature steam from the turbine condenses on the tube exteriors, transferring latent heat and raising the water temperature. This staged process—features zones for cooling, condensing, and desuperheating—optimizes heat recovery. Deaerators, either tray or spray types, further elevate feedwater quality by removing dissolved gases and improving heating efficiency through controlled steam-water interaction.
